Junior Software Engineer

Work Environment

  • Implementation of Globetom products for customers
  • Customer projects involve some incremental innovation – this involves Web Development, C++ development, Database Development and Business Process Development using the Globetom SOA Platform
  • You will be exposed and will be a user of the Globetom Service Oriented Architecture framework and a significant part of your work will entail business process modelling in Microsoft Visio to define services advertised by our SOA framework

Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification: BSc Computer Science or BIT or BEng (Computer Engineering)

Experience

  • We will accept recent graduates without work experience
  • A passion for Software Development is essential. Willingness to develop in more than one language, e.g. C++ (Linux), PHP, Java and .NET
  • Proficiency with Linux (or other distributions) will be beneficial

  • Willingness to work with existing frameworks to implement short to medium duration projects that implements solutions on an existing product and framework

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Gross salary of R18 000 to R25 000 per month – based on experience and academic results
  • Flexible working hours – 8 hours per day that can be arranged according to lifestyle with core hours 09h00 to 15h00 SAST
  • Employee Share Benefit Scheme (ESBS) which you form part of automatically after 3 years of employment
    • This is a profit-based bonus scheme
