Centurion-based software developer and systems integrator Globetom announced today that it has completed an independent BEE rating process by BEE process management company EMEX.
The re-rating has seen Globetom improve from a level six BEE rated organisation to a level four rating with a score of between 65% and 75%.
In addition, the GlobeTOM BEE certificate was issued with a low fronting risk. This jump is a direct result of a strong direct empowerment strategy adopted by Globetom during 2006 that has seen Don Ncube and Bheki Nkomo taking a controlling stake in Globetomtom.
In addition, the rating improvement was further a result of strong management involvement, with Nkomo having been appointed as chief executive officer.
According to Bheki Nkomo, CEO of Globetom, the company’s enhanced BEE profile along with its very strong software engineering and systems integration skills base positions the company well for contributions to the telecommunications industry as well as for delivery of software solutions to enterprises in key specialisation areas.
Globetom featured well in the control empowerment aspects of the BEE scorecard and also received very good ratings for corporate social investment and employment equity. Globetom has appointed EMEX to manage its BEE compliance on an ongoing basis.
“Our mission will remain to be a niche software engineering and systems integration company that is able to deliver valuable ICT innovation skills to the market while continuously enhancing our BEE credentials,” said Nkomo.
“The Globetom bursary programme has, for example, already reaped benefits for Globetom by allowing students to work at Globetom during their studies.”
